New Beer Blog Bell’s Best Brown Ale

In this fall beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Bell’s Brewery.  It is their famous Best Brown Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Michigan craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest craft brewery.  Let us get into this brown ale.

It has a cloudy dark brown color with a tan color head. The smell has a sweet malty with nutty notes. The taste has a smooth malty notes with a nutty aftertaste. It is a nice drinkable fall beer.

A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Closing, I have always pick up a six pack of this beer every year.  This is one of the few beers that I go out of my way to pick up from this brewery.  They did a great job on making this beer.  It is a nice and smooth.  This is a great brew for the fall day or first winter snow of the winter.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Bell’s Expedition Stout

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Bell’s Brewery.  It is their Expedition Stout, which is Imperial Russian Stout.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Midwest craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Michigan craft brewery.  Let us get into this stout.

It has a jet black color with a tan constant head. The aroma has a heavy rich chocolate to coffee notes. The taste has a smooth chocolate milkshake to coffee notes with a nice chocolate to coffee aftertaste. It is a nice sipping beer.

One of the earliest examples of the Russian Imperial Stout in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. Closing, every year, I go out of my way to find this beer.  I love my Imperial Russian Stouts.  I do not believe that I had a bad one.  It is a pretty heavy beer and perfect for a fall to winter days.  This is a good beer to warm you up in the coldest days.  This is a sipping beer but it still has some nice balance.  I love this beer. I bet you could age this beer.  I am going to start aging a six pack this year.  I want to see how well it will hold up.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Bell’s Third Coast Beer

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Bell’s Brewery.  It is their Third Coast Beer.  This beer always gets confused most beer drinkers with Third Coast Old Ale.  This one is a lager and the other one is old ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Michigan craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest craft brewery.  Let us get into this lager.

It has a cloudy golden color with a white constant head on this Lager. The smell has a sweet malty notes. The taste has a sweet malty note with a dry aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable beer and true to beer style.

Closing, as many of you know, I have been trying to find a perfect craft lager.  I have never had this beer so I broke down and pick up this beer.  It is pretty funny how this beer gets confused with their Old Ale.  I do not know why they named it about this same name. This beer is pretty average but I can see why they made this beer.  When Bell’s Brewery was starting, there was not many craft beer drinkers.  This craft brewery was trying to get mass produced lager drinkers.  There is many of these craft breweries that have lagers.  Mainly, these craft breweries started in the 1980’s.  I recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Arbor Brewing Violin Monster Autumn Ale

In this fall beer blog, we are going to get into special high end beer from Arbor Brewing.  It is their Violin Monster Autumn Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Michigan craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest Craft Brewery.  Let us get into this fall beer.

It has a jet black color without a head.  The aroma has a heavy cinnamon to light brown sugar notes. The taste has a smooth chocolate to cinnamon and nutmeg notes. The aftertaste has a brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg finish. It is a sipping beer.

Closing, I cannot remember having this beer.  I believe that I had this beer when I came in for a visit when I lived in Chicago.  I know that I was a pretty big fan of this craft brewery when I lived in Chicago.  I still respect them and enjoy their beers.  This beer does not drink like high alcohol beer. This beer is 9.5% and it drinks like 5%.  It is a smooth beer and pretty well balance.  There is some nice tasting notes that will keep the beer drinker coming back for more.  It is a nice sipping beer.  I like this beer. I will be picking a 6 pack bottles each seasonal.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/
