In the end, I am always looking forward to try new beers or beers that I never had.  This beer was no different.  I was in Chicago for the weekend and I stopped in one of my old liquor stores.  I came across this can, which was Buckledown Oktoberfest.  I like it. I am not a huge Oktoberfest fan but I will try new ones here and there.  I will have to make a trip to Chicago next fall to get this beer.   I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

Closing, I am getting really burn out on pumpkin beers.  It is not as excited as it was before.  I really did not like beer at all and normally I like just about everything that this brewery puts out on the market.  I was very disappointed.  It might have been something that I ate or drink before.  I will not know until next season.  I recommend you to try this beer once.  Please, let me know that you think.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!   Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

image

In this fall beer blog, we are going to get into special high end beer from Arbor Brewing.  It is their Violin Monster Autumn Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Michigan craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest Craft Brewery.  Let us get into this fall beer.

It has a jet black color without a head.  The aroma has a heavy cinnamon to light brown sugar notes. The taste has a smooth chocolate to cinnamon and nutmeg notes. The aftertaste has a brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg finish. It is a sipping beer.

Here is a description from their website (www.arborbrewing.com):

Violin Monster – Arbor Brewing Company

Description

A geographical approach to the werewolf legends results in the identification of a major werewolf area stretching from mid-Germany into the Netherlands and Belgium. With this in mind, we have created a strong, dark, spiced using ingredients from those regions. Brewed with Midnight Wheat, warming spices, and a hint of brown sugar, the Violin Monster is black as night and packs a punch at 9.5%. Unleash your inner beast with Violin Monster Dark Ale, but beware.

History

For centuries the Violin Monster has traversed the world howling his curse at an unforgiving moon. Although his past is filled with bloodlust and sorrow, he has found that playing his fiddle pacifies his Hunger. In recent years, the Violin Monster has found a measure of peace and a cherished home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. And if you’re lucky, you just might spot him there on a street corner soothing his soul by serenading the city he now calls home.

Closing, I cannot remember having this beer.  I believe that I had this beer when I came in for a visit when I lived in Chicago.  I know that I was a pretty big fan of this craft brewery when I lived in Chicago.  I still respect them and enjoy their beers.  This beer does not drink like high alcohol beer. This beer is 9.5% and it drinks like 5%.  It is a smooth beer and pretty well balance.  There is some nice tasting notes that will keep the beer drinker coming back for more.  It is a nice sipping beer.  I like this beer. I will be picking a 6 pack bottles each seasonal.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!
