New Beer Blog Miami Brewing Gator Tail Brown Ale

image

In this beer blog, we are going to get into Miami Brewing for the first time.  The beer that is being feature is  Gator Tail Brown Ale.  Here is a little something from their website (www.miamibrewing.org):

Peter Schnebly started Miami Brewing Company as a side project to give his customers the option of a personally crafted beer while others in their party enjoyed some of Schnebly’s fine wines.

This brewery was stated in 2011.  It is a young craft brewery.  There is not much history and information on this company.  It seems like they have been brewing for years.  Let us get into this American Brown Ale.

It has a brown color with a tan constant head. The smell has a sweet malty to slight nutty notes. The taste has a sweet malty with dry malty to nutty aftertaste. It is a pretty drinkable beer.

Here is a description from their website (www.miamibrewing.org):

Closing, this beer was part of my case that my friend brought back from his trip.  I was pretty interested in this beer.  It is a drinkable beer.  It is not overly malty but a nice light body brown ale.   It is a good brown ale. It is not best but still good.  It is a beer that is perfect for southern part of the United States.  I need something that is heavy brown ale up in the north here.  If you have a chance to try this beer, I recommend you do it.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

New Beer Blog Viven Brewery Imperial IPA

image

In this import beer blog, we are going to get into a brew from Belgium.  It is Viven Brewery Imperial IPA.  There is not much history and I cannot find any information on this brewery.  I do know this brewery is from Europe.  On their website, this brewery was founded in 1999.  Let us get into this Import IPA.

It has a cloudy copper color with a constant white head. The aroma has a lemon, citrus, and some funky Belgian spicy yeast notes. The taste has a smooth dry slight citrus notes with a dry bitter aftertaste. It is a nice sipping beer.

Here is a description from their website (www.viven.be):

Viven Bier – Vlaamse brouwkunst.

Viven Imperial IPA is originally from the west coast of America. This recipe, combined with the Flemish brewing art, has an excellent result. It does many beer lovers’ hearts beat faster. It is a bitter hunk with a beautiful balance of citrus keys (especially pink grapefruit) and floral tones. A true experience for the senses…

Closing, When Ashley’s Westland did their Belgium Fest, I wanted to try this beer.  It was at the top of my list. They sold out the first day of event. I was disappointed that there was not too much information on this brewery.  I was looking for Imperial IPA but it taste like Imperial triple. It is still a great product. I am glad I have tried it.  If you can find, I would try it.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

New Beer Blog Cigar City Invasion Pale Ale

image

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Cigar City Brewery.  It is their Invasion Pale Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of Cigar City Brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Florida craft brewery.  Let us get into this pale ale.

It has a clear golden color without a head on this pale ale. The aroma has heavy citrus notes like a west coast pale ale. The taste has a citrus to slight lemon notes. There is a nice west coast hop bitterest that hangs along throughout the tasting experience and aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Here is their description from their website (www.cigarcitybrewing.com):

Invasion® | Cigar City Brewing

The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to Pirate invasion every year for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships, despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can’t beat them start saying Arrrr Matey! And so we have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy and tropical session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!

Closing, I have been wanting to try this beer for a long time.  I was happy to see this in my case when my friend Mike brought it back from Florida.  Thanks again for bring this back.  It is a perfect beer for the Florida area.  There are times when beers do not work in other areas.  For example, beers in the Northeast part of the United States sometimes do not go over well in Hawaii.  Craft Breweries brew beers for their areas.  This beer and brewery has it right and their beers went over here in Michigan.  I like it. It is a special beer since I cannot get it. It is not Sierra Nevada Pale Ale but still good.  If they hit the market here in Michigan, this beer will be more in cost than Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.  I hate to say it but I will go with Sierra Nevada.  It is almost the same beer.  I could be wrong.  Overall, this is a great beer.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!
