New Beer Blog Thirsty Dog Brewing Raspberry Ale

In this beer blog, we are going to sample another beer from Thirsty Dog Brewing.  It is their Raspberry Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog post on their beers, you know the history of this Ohio base craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest craft brewery.  Let us get into this beer.

It has a clear golden color with a white constant head. The smell has a heavy raspberry notes. The taste has a sweet raspberry notes with slight tart raspberry aftertaste. It is extremely drinkable beer.

In the end, this brewery gets me their artwork on their package.  I am a huge dog lover.  This is why this beer is being posted on this blog.  I am not a huge fan of fruit beers but I will try them now and then.  There is a nice raspberry notes in the aroma and tasting profile.  I am not a fan but it is a pretty good beer.  I recommend this beer if you are a fan of fruit beers.  This will be in your wheel house.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Boulevard Brewing Heavy Lifting IPA

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another beer, which is called heavy Lifting IPA, from Boulevard Brewing.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know history of this craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read  them to get to know Kansas base craft brewery.  Let us get into this IPA.

It has a clear golden color with a white constant head. The aroma has a citrus notes. The taste has a citrus to piney notes with a dry piney hop bitter aftertaste. It is kind of drinkable.

Closing, this craft brewery has hit two home-runs with both IPA’s.  I am talking about The Calling and this one, which is called Heavy Lifting IPA.  This is the first everyday beer that I love from Boulevard Brewing.  There is some nice citrus notes and great selection of hops.  I am loving Amarillo and Citra hops.  I love it. New Beer Blog Boulevard Brewing Calling IPA

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another beer from Boulevard Brewing.  It is their Calling IPA.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Kansas base craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this craft brewery.  Let us get into this IPA.

It has a cloudy golden color with a white constant color head. The aroma has a nice heavy citrus notes.  The taste has a citrus to tropical fruit notes with a hint of grapefruit notes. The aftertaste has a citrus to hop bitter notes. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Closing, I am not a huge fan of Boulevard Brewing.  I do enjoy their high-end brews that are in four pack and 750ml bottles.  There is some nice aroma notes.  I love the tropical fruit notes in the tasting profile.  I love this beer. I do believe this beer does not hold up well to age.  Age is what kills IPA’s.  This is a great beer and they did a great job.  I do not see it on their website and I hope they are still making this brew.  I highly highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Sierra Nevada Beer Camp (2016) Moxee-Moron Imperial Session IPA

In this special beer camp blog, we are going to sample another beer from Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp.  It is called Moxee-Moron Imperial Session IPA.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this West Coast craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this California base craft brewery.  Let us get into this IPA.

It has a clear golden color with a white constant color head. The aroma has a heavy citrus to hints of tropical fruit notes. The taste has a heavy citrus notes with tropical fruit aftertaste. It is a drinkable beer.

Ending,  I do not know about you but I am getting sick of these marketing gimmick on brews.  This Imperial Session IPA is really a IPA.  I realize that this beer is making fun of the Session IPA.  I did not like the hops that were picked on this beer.  It is mix of hops.  It is just like every IPA on the market.  I am a little disappointed as a Hophead.  I still recommend this beer since it is one off brew.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Metal it!  Enjoy it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Sierra Nevada Beer Camp (2016) Stout Of The Union Robust Stout

In this special Beer Camp blog, we are going to sample second of six beers from Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp series of 2016.  It is their Stout Of The Union Robust Stout.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts of their beers, you know the history of this West Coast craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this California base craft brewery.  Let us get into this stout.

It has a jet black color with a tan constant head. The aroma has a heavy chocolate to coffee notes. The taste has a smooth sweet caramel to chocolate along with a slight coffee notes. The aftertaste has a dry chocolate to a slight dried fruit notes. It is a sipping beer but I can see myself making this drinkable.

Closing, I was pretty excited to try this beer.  It is a pretty solid stout.  I like it but it is like every stout. I was hoping to get something special in a limited release beer sampler.  I cannot believe that I paid just over $30.00 for this brew.  I can paid a little less and get about the same stout.  It is worth the try but I am not going out of my way to try it again.  I recommend but I bet you feel the same way.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Alaskan Hop Turn IPA

In this beer blog, we are going to sample another  beer from Alaskan Brewery.  It is their Hop Turn IPA.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this West Coast craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Alaska base craft brewery.  Let us get into this IPA.

It has a slightly cloudy to a fog like golden color with a white constant head. The aroma has a citrus notes. The taste has a dry citrus to lemon notes with a dry lemon bitter aftertaste. It is kind of drinkable beer.

In the end, I was pretty happy to see this craft brewery make it to the State of Michigan.  I was disappointed that their Black IPA did not make it.  The last year, they have been pushing more and more of their IPA’s.  I am holding on to hope that they bring their black IPA to the state.  I was not impressed with this beer.  It has everything that I am looking for in an IPA.  It just rub me the wrong way.  It is a spring seasonal so I am good with it.  I can see others liking this product.  I recommend it for a try.  I know every craft beer drinker will try it at least once.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Natty Greene’s Buckshot Filtered Amber Ale

It has a clear light amber color with a white constant head. The aroma has a sweet malty to slight caramel notes. The taste has a sweet malty to a nutty notes with a dry malty aftertaste. It is a pretty drinkable beer.

Closing,  I am not a huge fan of Red, Irish Red, and Amber ales.  I respect the beer style but I do not go out of my way to pick it up.  I will drink them.  A friend of mine from Tri-City was down south and brought back a few beers.  This beer was part of that pile.  It is a solid beer and true to the beer style.  There is nice aroma and tasting notes.  I believe craft beer drinkers that love red and amber ales will love this beer.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Abita Coffee Stout

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another limited release beer from Abita.  It is their Coffee Stout.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this southern craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this craft brewery.  Let us get into this stout.

It has a jet black color with a tan constant color head. The aroma has a heavy coffee notes. The taste has a coffee to bourbon notes. The aftertaste has a nice coffee notes. It is a sipping beer.

In the end, I am not a huge fan of this craft brewery, however, I do respect what they have been doing since their exist.  It is hard to destroy a stout.  I love my stouts and porters.  I hate drinking coffee but I love it in my beer.  This is a great beer and they did a great job.  I love the coffee beans that they picked.  This is what makes a different in coffee stout.  There is a nice balance.  I love it. New Beer Blog Short’s Brew Black Cherry Porter

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Short’s Brew.  It is their Black Cherry Porter.  I am a sucker for any with cherries in it.  I had to pick up this beer.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Midwest craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Michigan craft brewery.  Let us get into this porter.

It has a jet black color with big bubbles. The head on this beer has a tan color. The smell has a smokey chocolate with a small cherry notes. The taste has a heavy smokey chocolate notes with chocolate cherry aftertaste. It is a sipping beer.

Black Cherry Porter

Black Cherry Porter is made using local Northern Michigan sweet black cherries and eight different malts. The combination of ingredients provides the deep radiant flavor profile and creates a dark opaque color. In the end, I am always a sucker for anything with cherries in it.  I love cherries and I really do not care who makes the beer.  I am going to pick it up on the spot.  It was a no brainier to pick up this brew from Short’s Brew.  I am not a huge fan of Short’s Brew.  I have found some beers that I like from them.  It is normally in their seasonal line.  They put all their effort behind those beers.  It is a nice smokey porter. I cannot get any cherry notes in this porter.  I love cherries. I am pretty disappointment.  There is a nice balance but I believe this porter overtook the cherries.  I would try it once to get it out of your system.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/
