New Beer Blog Sierra Nevada Kölsch

image

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Sierra Nevada.  It is their Kölsch.  This beer is only available in their summer sampler.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this west coast craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this craft brewery.  Let us get into this summer like beer style.

It has a clear golden color with a white constant head. The aroma has a fresh light earthly notes like hay to grass. The taste has a refreshing and sweet malty notes. The aftertaste has a crisp finish. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Ending, I am not a fan of Spring and Summer seasonals.  They are too light in body for me or have no flavor.  I normally do not drink too many of these when they are in season.  Sierra Nevada Summerfest is about the only one that I will enjoy during the late Spring and Summer.  This Kölsch has a light body but it is still has a nice flavor.  I love this beer. I could drink this beer all day.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

Ending, I know many of you out there from my readers here and friends of mine.  They all know that I am not a fan of this craft brewery.  I just feel that they could be make better beers.  They have no pressure right now to check anything.  Michigan craft beer market is still growing along with their drinkers.  Once it is hits the peak.  I believe they will need to change some things up at that time.  I just wished they made better beer, however, this beer is pretty good.  It is better than most of their beers.  I recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

New Beer Blog Perrin Black Ale

image

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Perrin Brewery.  It is their Black Ale.  This beer was a Black Lager.  They changed this beer to an ale to keep up with demand.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Michigan craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest craft brewery.  Let us get into this black ale.

It has a jet black color with a tan color head at first that disappears over time. The smell has a chocolate with coffee like notes. The taste of this light body ale has a chocolate to coffee like notes. It has a heavy malty notes but still light like a light Lager. The aftertaste has a nutty finish that hangs around. It is extremely drinkable beer.

Here is a description from their website (www.perrinbrewing.com):

Perrin Black ABV 5.8% IBU 25

The Black Ale is low in gravity, clean, crisp, and flavor-filled; giving off a bread-like aroma. This beer proves that deep colors do not signify rich potency. Our Black Ale is deceptively light on the tongue.

Closing, this brewery is one of my favorite craft breweries in the State Of Michigan.  I am a fan of Petoskey Brewery, Right Brain, Frankenmuth Brewery, and Canton Brew Works.  The goal for this craft brewery is to brew beers that are drinkable and does not matter the beer style.  I will say they did a great job on this brew.  This is not my favorite beer style. I am not saying this is a bad beer.  It is a really good beer and respect what they did with this beer.  I can see many people liking this beer.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!
