Ending, I love this time of the year because I love the pumpkin ales and Oktoberfests. It also makes me sad because the Motorcycle will be put up for the season. This Oktoberfest is a little different brew than from the rest on the market. Most American Oktoberfest have that sweet caramel notes. The traditional Oktoberfest that comes out of Germany has more of malty notes. This brew from Great Lakes Brewery is close to the Europe style but yet still has a little American notes. There is a little sweetest there. This is one of the best Oktoberfests in the Midwest area. I always pick up a six-pack each season. This is one of the Midwest go to brews. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/
Cheers!

New Beer Blog Great Lakes Brewing Sharp Shooter
In this summer beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Great Lakes Brewery. It is the first seasonal with their new packaging. It is a new beer in their books. It is Sharpshooter Session Wheat IPA. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Midwest craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this craft brewery. Let us get into this beer.
It has a cloudy golden color with a white constant head. The smell has a nice welcoming orange notes. The taste has a citrus to orange notes. The aftertaste has an orange like finish that is not over bearing. It is pretty drinkable beer.
Here is a description from the beer bottle:
Inspired by Ohio’s “little sure shot” Annie Oakley, our Session Wheat IPA is peppered with rounds of whole Orange peel and fully loaded with Jarrylo hops.
Here is their website and twitter addresses:

In the end, I saw this coming down the pipeline. I thought Great Lakes Brewery was way behind the beer trends. I have to say they came up with something different than the rest of White IPA’s. I like it. It is not my go to as far as Summer seasonals. I have to say it is up with all the straight wheat ales and fruit beers that hit the market during the summer. With that all said, I was wrong. Great Lakes Brewery is seeing something that I did not see. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/
Cheers!

Ending, I look forward every year for this beer to be released. I was pretty stun to see that I never blogged about this brew. This brew has a well built malty backbone to give off a nice balance for Imperial IPA. The malty backbone let the hops shine nicely throughout the drinking experience. I love this beer. I love the mango and tropical like notes. This is a great beer and I wish it was one of their everyday brews. I highly recommend this brew. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

Closing, there is not too many craft breweries out there that has a dark beer as their flagship beer. Great Lakes Brewery is known for this brew. It is a nice English style porter and it is one that the craft beer drinkers use to compare to other porters. This beer is Midwest go to porter and dark beer. There is some nice tasting notes that will have you coming back to even in the hot summer days. It is really a sipping beer but some people make it a drinkable beer. This is one of my favorite English porters. I love it. I wished they did other versions in package. I mean a vanilla bean, cherry, etc versions of the porter. I know do it in draft but I am talking package. Speaking of package, I wish this beer was in cans and I pretty stun this brewery does not put any of their beers in cans. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

Closing, I am a little slow but I am starting to realize that Great Lakes Brewery makes some great beers. I love their porter, pale ale, and their golden lager. I will be adding this brew to that list. There is a nice balance in this amber lager. This beer has a nice smooth creamy aftertaste. I love the caramel notes and the overall balance in this beer. This is a great Amber Lager. I love it. I will be adding this beer in the later summer and fall days. This beer and banana bread beer will a nice break in the fall from all the pumpkin and Octoberfest brews. I highly recommend this beer. Plus, this beer is so much better than Samuel Adams Boston Lager and Brooklyn Lager. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

Closing, it has been forever since I had a Great Lakes Oktoberfest. I was happy to get a bottle in my hand. I have to say I was not disappointed. So far, this year’s fall seasonals has not been disappointing asides New Belgian Brewery Tour De Fall. I am not going to get into it on this review. Just like Goose Island Oktoberfest, there is some nice depth of malty notes. I am getting some nice hints of sweet caramel notes. It is nice drinkable and easy to drink beer. It is true to the classic beer style and I will have a few more pints before the end of the season. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

@GLBC_ClevelandLights back on, I enjoyed this brew and I forgot how good this brew really is. Every year this beer is released. I used to pick up a few like a few years ago and I would see it. I keep forgetting to pick up. Shame on me, this is a great stout. I almost want to make a road trip to try this as a barrel aged stout. This is a nice sipping Imperial Stout. I love the chocolate and slight coffee notes. I know there is a code date but I could see this brew aging well in the bottle. This is on my own thing and it did not come from the brewery. I highly recommend this brew and I would hunt it down before it disappear until next season. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/
