New Beer Blog Avery Old Jubilation Ale (2016)

In this winter beer blog, we are going to get into a beer from Avery Brewery.  Avery Brewery started in 1993 in Colorado.  Their first beer that was in package was their IPA.  They started packaging in cans in 2010.  They have won several awards throughout the years.  They moved into their new brewery in 2015.  Let us get into this English Strong Ale.

It has a clear amber color with an off white color head. The aroma has a sweet candy like notes. The taste has a sweet candy to malty notes with sweet malty aftertaste. It is not really drinkable beer.

Here is a description from their website (www.averybrewing.com):

Closing, I love this brewery.  They make some great beers.  I found them while living in the Chicagoland market.  Since I moved back to Michigan, I have a hard time finding their beers.  If I do, I have to look at the code date.  If I find it fresh, I burn myself out.  I buy and drinking them only for a while.  That is a good thing.  I like it. This is a great English Strong Ale.  What I really like about this beer is they did not throw nutmeg or cinnamon.  This beer is a different pace from the rest of the winter seasonals.  I will search it out next year. I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

New Sports Thought Blog World Cup And Soccer

In this Sports Thought Thursday blog, we are going to get into the World Cup.  I am not going to get into the history of this tournament or soccer.  Personally, I really do not care.  It might shape the thought pattern on this blog.  The big question is why should we care in American?  Is soccer going to grow in the United Sates?  Let us get into this debate.

This is a big event around the world asides here in the United States.  I know there are many in the states that can give a crap.  However, if the US team keeps playing, the more interested it is going to gather in the States.  Will that help the sport grow in the states?  Of course, it will help but will anyone care after the World Cup is finish.  I see the only way this sport will make in the States if US team wins the cup.  It is a fact.  There has been several soccer leagues open in the states and then soon disappears in the dust.  We had the Rockers in Detroit and I was always getting free tickets to go watch the game.  I did not understand the game and I told myself I will be back to a game.  I never made it back.  We have NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL.  Two out of four of our sports is what the world worries about.  They are MLB and NHL.  Most part of the world they do not care about MLB and NFL.  Do we have it wrong in the states?  Or is the world wrong?  I believe it is taste and what you like.  Soccer had its highest TV ratings during the US vs German match.  Is there more to come with this?  I would say yes.

In closing, I will write a follow-up blog at the end of the World Cup.  I personally do not care.  I just find the sport very boring.  I never saw so much flopping field or court.  I do understand it because I took the time to learn it.  I am turn off on the sport.  I wish all the countries the best of luck.  I believe we in the States will go back to not caring once the US is knocked out and when the World Cup disappears for another four years.  We do not care about soccer and it is reality.  It is a niche sport here.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

Dessert please, I like to try different beers and I love my desert beers.  I am a huge fan of their Banana Bread Beer.  I love drinking it in the fall to break up all the Pumpkin and Oktoberfest brews.  I will be adding this beer to that list during the fall but I will have a few of this brew and their Banana Bread Ale before fall.  This beer is good and I enjoyed it very much.  I was a little disappointed.  I was expecting something pretty sweet but I still loved it.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!

New Beer Blog Fuller’s London Pride

image

In this beer blog, we are going to get into the flagship from Fuller’s Brewery and the beer is London Pride Pale Ale.  If you read my beer blog post on their ESB, you know the history of this brewery.  If you have not read that beer blog post, please, read that post to get to know this brewery.  Let us get into beer.

It has a clear copper color with a constant white head.  There is no smell to this beer.  The taste is a malty caramel with a light carbonation with a tropical fruit aftertaste.  It is drinkable and refreshing beer.

Here is a description from the beer bottle:

Fuller’s London Pride is an award-winning English classic premium beer, rich and smooth, with a good malty base and well-developed hop notes in the finish.

The Griffin Brewery in Chiswichk, London, has been brewing fine beers since 1654.

The Fuller, Smith & Turner partnership, dating back to 1845, brews an excellent range of award-winning beers, many of which are available in the USA, including London Pride premium beer and the world’s original ESB.  I hope you will enjoy trying all our fine beers.

Here is description from their website (www.fullers.co.uk):

London Pride

Fuller’s London Pride is the UK’s leading premium ale.

An intrinsic part of London, London Pride has been brewed by the banks of the Thames from the very first brew.

Known and loved for its smooth, distinctive malty base and rich balance of hops flavours, London Pride is London and the UK’s favourite premium ale.

Ending, this is a great beer but I am not a huge fan of the malty base pale ales.  This is how all English Pale Ales.  There is nothing wrong that brewing styles.  Europe set the standard for the classic beer styles.  I love the hops that they use in this brew but I just feel this beer would be better if it did not have a huge malty backbone.  This is what the brewery and the brewmaster at the time was going for in the recipe.  So for what it is, it is well made beer. I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!
