New Beer Blog Avery White Rascal Ale

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another beer from Avery Brewery.  This beer is their flagship, which is White Rascal Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Mountain area craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know Avery Brewery.  Let us get into this white ale.

It has a light yellow to strew white color with a white constant head. The smell has a lemon to citrus notes. The taste has a citrus to lemon refreshing notes with lemon like aftertaste. It is extremely drinkable beer.

In the end, I am not a fan of white and wheat beers. I do not know why I keep trying these beers.  I guess I am hoping that I will like them.  I did like them back in the day when I started in the craft beer world.  I guess it is the side of me that loves trying beers that I never had and new ones.  This beer falls in the beer that I never had.  This one is not too bad. If I need something light during the summer days, I will pick this one up.  I recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

New Beer Blog Avery Old Jubilation Ale (2016)

In this winter beer blog, we are going to get into a beer from Avery Brewery.  Avery Brewery started in 1993 in Colorado.  Their first beer that was in package was their IPA.  They started packaging in cans in 2010.  They have won several awards throughout the years.  They moved into their new brewery in 2015.  Let us get into this English Strong Ale.

It has a clear amber color with an off white color head. The aroma has a sweet candy like notes. The taste has a sweet candy to malty notes with sweet malty aftertaste. It is not really drinkable beer.

Our winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts.

Closing, I love this brewery.  They make some great beers.  I found them while living in the Chicagoland market.  Since I moved back to Michigan, I have a hard time finding their beers.  If I do, I have to look at the code date.  If I find it fresh, I burn myself out.  I buy and drinking them only for a while.  That is a good thing.  I like it. This is a great English Strong Ale.  What I really like about this beer is they did not throw nutmeg or cinnamon.  This beer is a different pace from the rest of the winter seasonals.  I will search it out next year. New Beer Blog New Belgium Brewery Fat Tire And Friends Avery Brewing Fat Wild Ale

In this special beer blog, we are going to get another beer from New Belgium Brewery Fat Tire and Friends.  It is their Avery Brewing Fat Wild Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of these western craft breweries.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know both of these craft breweries.  Let us get into this wild ale.

It has a clear amber color with a white constant head. The aroma has a tropical fruit like to pineapple notes. The taste has a nice caramel to pineapple notes with a fruit like aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable.

Go wild for Fat. Thanks to Boulder’s finest for this unabashedly tropic take on Fat Tire. Avery took a healthy dose of Brettanomyces Bruxellensis Drie to create a Fat Tire spin with a sturdy malt backbone, fruity hop aroma and a tropical pineapple layer. Heed the call of the wild Fat Tire.

In the end, I am not surprise to see a few sour and wild ales in this sampler pack.  New Belgium might be known for their Fat Tire Amber Ale but they are really known for their  sour and wild ales.  I like this one more than the one from Hopworks. Both are great beers. So far there are some good beers.  New Belgium Brewery did a great job picking the other craft breweries to work with and put out some solid beers.  I highly recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/
