New Beer Blog Perrin Lil’ Griz

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Perrin Brewery. It is their Lil’ Griz. This hard to find brew in package is being featured on this blog for the first time. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know they history of this up and coming Michigan craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Midwest craft brewery. Let us get into this American Brown Ale.

It has a dark brown color with a constant tan color head. The aroma has a sweet malty to nutty notes. The taste has a nutty notes with a slight bourbon notes for the aftertaste. It is smooth barrel age brew. It is a pretty drinkable beer.

In the end, when I heard Perrin was making an everyday barrel aged ale, I was pretty excited to try it. I will say many of my beer friends were just as excited. There is a nice balance in this beer. The bourbon does not over take the brown ale. It is pretty slight. This is unlike most barrel aged brews. Perrin in my opinion has done a great job making this brew. It comes in at 6.9% but it drinks like 5% ABV. I will say Perrin is keeping to their goal as a brewery. They wanted to make session-able beers. They hit homerun with this one. I just wish this was everyday in package. I highly recommend this beer in package or draft. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

New Beer Blog Knee Deep Brewing Breaking Bud

In this beer blog, we are going to get into Knee Deep Brewing. This is the first time that this brewery and their beer is being feature on this blog. The beer is their Breaking Bud IPA. Jeremy Warren founded Knee Deep Brewing in 2010. They are known for their IPA’s. There is not much history on this brewery. They just added Michigan to their distribution map. Let us get into this IPA.

It has a clear golden color with a white constant head. The aroma has a heavy earthly to floral like notes. The taste has an earthly to grass like notes with a pine cone aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Old school meets new school in this fresh approach to the classic IPA. At 50 IBU’s and 6.7% ABV, Breaking Bud features the restrained bitterness and alcohol of a classic IPA with newer tropical fruit hop flavors and aromas of Mosaic. Closing my tab, I just happen to walk into one of liquor stores by my house. I was pretty stun to see these brews from Knee Deep Brewing. I never heard of them and of course, I pulled out my phone right away and did a little research from this craft brewery. I have to say I am not disappointed. I just wished that it came in as six pack bottles or cans. I am not a huge fan of 22oz bottles. I will say most markets are like this now. If it is a limited run beer, I am fine with it being in 22oz bottles. I like it. It is nice to get a different version of an English style IPA. I will pick up this beer once in a while. It is just the 22oz that throws me off. Once it is open. You have to drink it all. I recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

New Beer Blog Sierra Nevada Brauhaus Riegele Oktoberfest

In this fall beer blog, we are going to get into the new fall seasonal from Sierra Nevada Brewery. It is their Oktoberfest. It is brewed with Brauhaus Riegele. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on Sierra Nevada Brewery, you know the history of this west coast craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know Sierra Nevada. Brauhaus Riegele was founded in 1386. It is one of the oldest brewery in Germany. Let us get into this fall beer.

It has a clear golden color with a white constant head on this fall beer. The aroma has a light malty notes. It is hard to pick up. The taste has a malty notes that finish slightly sweet for the aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable.

In the end, I was pretty excited to see Sierra Nevada making Okotberfest. I thought it was one from the Fall Sampler from last years. This is a brand new brew beer for this fall. The one from last year was their brewpub only Oktoberfest. I will be honest. I was not a really a huge fan of this years at first. I believe it was because I was hoping to get the one that I had from last year. I have to say it really grew on me. I have been picking it up and sharing it with friends. I have to say that my friends are loving it. I love it. I am having a hard time finding it now because stores are selling out and fast. I highly recommend this one if you can find it. Go get some! New Beer Blog New Belgium Blue Paddle Pilsner

It has a clear golden color with a white constant head. The aroma has a sweet malty to light citrus. It is pretty faded. The taste has a light carbonated malty notes with a dry crisp finish. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Ending, just like lagers, I am trying to find the perfect craft pilsner. I believe that I have found the beer from New Belgium Brewery. This is a nice drinkable beer but the one thing that I do not like about it. It is pretty sweet for the beer style. I still love this pilsner. This is a beer that I would drink during football season or during a hockey game at home. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

New Beer Blog Yuengling Oktoberfest

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Yuengling Brewery. It is their fall seasonal, which is Oktoberfest. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this America’s oldest brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this East Coast craft brewery. It has a clear amber color with a white constant head. The smell is light and very fade. I can not pick up any notes. The taste has a light old caramel notes. The aftertaste has a dry malty finish. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Ending, this beer is brewed to the classic beer style. It is pretty spot on for the style. There is nothing wrong with it. I will be really honest. It is not my favorite Oktoberfest. I would rather drink the original Spaten Oktoberfest. I am not a huge fan of the imported Oktoberfest. It is about same tasting notes. I know beer and craft beer drinkers love this style of Oktoberfest. There is the German Style of the Oktoberfest and there is the American version. I am a fan of the American because it has the heavy caramel and sweet notes. I know this beer does well and people hunt it done. I recommend this beer if you like the German Style Oktoberfest. New Beer Blog Sixpoint 4 Beans

In this beer blog, we are going to get into a special beer release from Sixpoint Brewery. It is their 4 Beans and not 3 Beans. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this east coast craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this New York City Craft Brewery. Let us get into this Imperial Porter.

It has a jet black color with a tan constant head. The aroma has a chocolate to coffee notes. The taste has a smooth chocolate to toffee and notes of coffee. Each sip there is something new. The aftertaste has dry chocolate notes. It is a sipping beer

Closing, I am a huge fan and I am glad that I can get them in the Ohio market. I cannot get them in Michigan market. I am just happy to travel an hour south. I loved their 3 Beans. Why not the 4 Beans? This one step up from the 3 Beans. What I love about this beer is it gives you something new in each sip. I love it. I am a huge fan. Next time, I am down in Ohio. In this special beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Stone Brewery. It is their 19th Anniversary IPA. It is their Thunderstruck IPA. It has a clear golden color with a white constant head. The smell has a floral to slight citrus notes. The taste of this medium body has a citrus notes with hints of hop bitter. The aftertaste has a hop bitter finish. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Ending, I always pick up their new IPA’s. I am a huge fan of this craft brewery. i love the fact that they are always trying something different and new in beer. I love taste profile and nice balance in this beer. This craft brewery knows how to make IPA’s. I trust this craft brewery more than any other craft brewery. New Beer Blog Schlafly American IPA

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Schlafly Brewery. It is their Special American India Pale Ale. It has a cloudy light copper color with a constant white head. The smell has a heavy grapefruit to citrus like notes. The taste has the same aroma notes. The aftertaste has a citrus to hop bitter finish. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Ending, it is a big holiday when I get Schlafly beers. I do not get any of their beers in the Michigan market. I have been wanting to try this beer since it was first released in their beer market. I will say it did not disappoint me at all. I love the tasting notes. I love the hop selection. They build a nice malty backbone. I love this beer as much their APA. I highly recommend this beer. In this beer blog, we are going to get into a brew that I have been wanting to try in a long time. The brewery is The Alchemist and the beer is Heady Topper. Alchemist is from Vermont. It is a small brewery that focus on this brew. They do brew other beers. This brewery started in 2003. They opened a larger brewery in 2011. There is not much history on this brewery. This beer is hard to get and people go out of their way to get this brew. Let us get into this beer.

It has a cloudy golden color with a white constant head. The carbonation is pretty alive. The aroma has a heavy earthly to floral like notes. The tastes of this full body double India Pale Ale has a slight citrus to piney like notes. The aftertaste has an orange to grapefruit like finish. It is extremely drinkable beer.

Heady Topper is an American Double India Pale Ale. This beer is not intended to be the biggest or most bitter. It is meant to give you wave after wave hoppy goodness on your palate. Tremendous amounts of American hops will creep up on you, and leave you with a dense hoppy finish in you mouth.

So drinkable. It’s scary. Sometimes I wish I could crawl right into the can. Freshness and control have always been my main concern when it comes to our beer. We are committed to providing you with an unfiltered and unpasteurized hop experience. The act of pouring it in a glass smells nice, but it releases the essential hop aromas that we have worked so hard to retain. If you MUST pour it into the glass, you mind find that some of the hop resins have settled to the bottom – leave them in the can when pouring. This beer is perishable, and at its best when it is young, fresh and hazy. Keep it cold, but not ice-cold. Drink this immediately, we are always making more.

Ending, I will say this beer did not disappoint me for the wait and hunting to get this brew. This is a great beer and I can see why it is rated so high. It is well-balanced for double IPA. This is the best Double IPA that I have ever had. There is a nice balance and it does not drink like a Double IPA. They did an awesome job on this brew. I want more. This is the brew that I will base other Double IPA’s on in the future. I bet others do the same. I highly recommend this beer and I cannot say it enough. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it!
