New Beer Blog Shiner Haymaker Extra Pale Ale

In this beer blog, we are going to get into the new pale ale from Shiner Brewery. It is called Haymaker Extra Pale Ale. It has a clear golden color with semi on white head. There is not any aroma to this ale. The taste has a light earthly to slight citrus notes. The aftertaste has a slight hop bitterest that is not overly powerful. It is pretty drinkable beer.

In the end, I was pretty upset that I had to buy the sampler pack. I am not a fan of all the Shiner’s beers. There is some that I can do without. It was worth it to try this beer and get more of this great brand. This beer has a nice balance and some nice hop tasting notes. I love this pale ale. I believe Shiner Brewery is starting to find themselves in the Ale world. I believe all other craft breweries will need to watch out. They make some nice and good lagers. I just wish that this beer was in 6 or 12 pack bottles in my market. This is a great beer and I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

New Beer Blog Kona Brewery Castaway India Pale Ale

Kona Brewing Castaway India Pale Ale is the brewery and beer that is being featured in this beer blog. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Hawaii craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Kona Brewery. Let us get into this IPA.

It has a golden color with small constant bubbles. There is a semi on constant white head. The aroma has a heavy citrus notes with a slight grapefruit notes. The taste has a nice citrus notes that is not bitter at all. It is pretty smooth on tongue. There is a nice grapefruit aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable beer.

In the end, it just seems all the time that I have to make trades to get beers from the west coast. I was happy to see this brewery finally made an IPA. I love this beer and I wish it was in Michigan. It has finally made it to the Michigan market. It has a nice grapefruit and citrus notes. This beer has a nice color in the beer glass. There is some nice smooth but has a nice bitter notes to make a hophead happy. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

New Beer Blog Shiner Brewery Birthday Beer Chocolate Stout

In this winter beer blog, we are going to get into the first stout from Shiner Brewery. It is their #106 Birthday Beer and it is called Birthday Beer Stout. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this Texas craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know Shiner. Let us get into this stout.

It has a jet black color with a tan constant head. The smell has a heavy chocolate notes. It also has a fresh chocolate cake notes. The taste has a sweet to heavy chocolate notes with a dry cocoa chocolate aftertaste. It is a nice sipping beer.

In closing, I am very proud of Shiner Brewery. When I was down there, they were getting ready to open their Ale Brew House. This brewery has come a long way in 100 years. Happy Birthday, Shiner! This is their first stout and their new winter seasonal. I will have to say it is not disappointing. I love it. It is like a chocolate cake taste but in liquid form. New Beer Blog Sierra Nevada Brewery Hop Hunter IPA

In this beer blog, we are going to get into a new beer and new technique to brew an IPA from Sierra Nevada Brewery. It is called Hop Hunter IPA. It has a clear golden color with small not constant bubbles. There is a nice white constant head. The aroma has an earthly to hop oil notes. The hop bitterest will burn the craft beer drinker’s nose. The taste has an earthly to evergreen notes. The aftertaste has a hop bitter finish. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Closing, when I heard what Sierra Nevada Brewery was doing for their new IPA, I said WHAT?!?!?!? I have to say I was pretty stun between the taste profile and aroma. You can smell the hop oil and I believe this will start a new trend in the craft beer world. I love this beer. This beer is one of my favorite IPA’s in the beer market. This is a great IPA but it is still not a Goose Island IPA. I have that beer as my #1 IPA. I have to say this beer is not that far off. Sierra Nevada is my #1 brewery to get my IPA fixed. New Beer Blog Une Année Brewery Maya Belgian Imperial India Pale Ale

In this beer blog, we are going to get into one of my favorite craft brewery from Chicago. It is Une Année Brewery and it is Maya Belgian Imperial India Pale Ale. It has a cloudy copper color with a white constant head. The smell has a slight citrus notes. The taste has a funky sweet citrus notes with slight carbonation notes. The aftertaste has a sweet malty to citrus notes. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Closing, I am so happy to see this craft brewery having some success and start moving their beers out of the Chicagoland area. I love the name of this craft brewery. It is the French word for one year. There is some nice packaging. They did a great job color and aroma. There is a nice balance in the taste profile. I love it and it is pretty drinking brew. New Beer Blog Stone Brewing Delicious IPA

In this beer blog, we are going to sample Stone Brewing Delicious IPA. This is one of the newer beers from this west coast craft beer legend. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of Stone Brewing. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this west coast craft brewery. Let us get into this IPA.

It has a clear golden to a light copper color with a white constant head. The aroma has a Lemon Drop candy like smell. The taste has a slight lemonish notes but a heavy grass to weed notes. The aftertaste has a heavy weed like notes along with the dry bitter finish. It is kind of drinkable beer.

Closing, I am a sucker for new beers and even more for new IPA’s. I had to pick up this beer from Stone Brewing. I know there are so many new and different IPA’s on market and Stone Brewing has made so many to hit the market. Why another IPA to the market? It is pretty simple. New hops hit the market and they do different things to the aroma and taste profile of beer. This one has a nice balance with a nice malty backbone. I love it. I will be getting more of it. This is a limited release and kind of seasonal beer. I hope this become an everyday brew. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/

In closing, Just what I said in my last blog about their brown ale, I am so happy that they finally made it to the Michigan market. This brew was one of my go to IPA’s when I lived in the Chicago market. This is one of my favorite IPA’s. I was so happy to see them make it to the Michigan market. When I left the Chicago market, I was sad to leave many of my favorite brews and breweries. Why I like this beer? It is pretty simple. It is not overall bitter and hoppy but it has enough for this hopheads. I could drinking this beer in any season. I hope cans make it to this market soon. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! New Beer Blog New Belgium Frambozen Ale (2014)

In this special beer blog, we are going to get into their holiday beer from New Belgium Brewery. It is their Frambozen Ale. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this mountain area craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know New Belgium Brewery. Let us get into this American Brown ale.

It has a clear ruby-red color when held up to the light. The smell has a heavy sweet raspberry notes. The taste has a sweet malty with raspberry wine notes. The brown ale calms wine notes. The aftertaste has a sweet raspberry finish. It is a nice sipping but kind of drinkable beer for the holiday season.

In the end, I have been wanting to try this so many seasons. I miss it season after season. I saw it on the shelf this winter season. I knew I had to pick it up right away. I knew the raspberries would go over pretty well with the brown ale. This is before trying this brew. I love the nice color. It has that Flemish Brown color but it is not a sour. I love it. There is a nice balance from the raspberries and the brown ale. It kind of has a little wine like notes which is a little unique. This is by far the best winter seasonal on the market this season. New Beer Blog Cheboygan Brewery IPA #11

It has a nice copper color with a with constant head. The aroma has a light citrus notes. The taste has a light malty to citrus notes with a dry bitter aftertaste. It is pretty balance. It is pretty drinkable beer.

Closing, I enjoyed this beer. There is a nice balance in this IPA. I wish it was in a package. This is a nice gift for myself when my friend makes a trip up to the craft brewery once a year. It is not one of my favorite IPA’s but is still a pretty good beer. It is a nice gateway beer to get more craft beer drinkers into good beer world. They picked up some nice hops to make this beer special. I believe this beer is a great brand. I love the story behind this beer. I highly recommend this beer. I hope you get a good batch. New Beer Blog Goose Island Rambler IPA (2014)

In this beer blog, we are going to get into another beer from Goose Island Brewery. It is next seasonal release, which is Rambler IPA. It has a clear red to amber color with a tan color head. The aroma has an herbal to citrus notes with a slight hint of earthy tones. The taste has earthy to caramel and citrus notes with dry malty hoppy aftertaste. It is a pretty drinkable beer.

Closing, I love this brew. This brew is the best of all the seaonals by far. I love their Endless IPA but this Red IPA takes it home. I was pretty impressed with their Ten Hills Pale Ale but after going through the year, it is the weakest of the seasonals. They did a great job on their Oktoberfest this year. I can’t wait to retry their Ten Hills Pale Ale. I might need to remind myself of this brew. I know their Christmas Ale will be out. It is American Brown Ale. This is a nice Red IPA for the fall season. It is not over hopped but just enough to make you get through the cooler fall days or part of the winter months. There is some nice malty notes and Amerillo hops just shine throughout this brew. This is a great brew. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/
