In this special beer blog, we are going to sample another beer from Weyerbacher Brewery. It is their Quad Ale which is a special release. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this craft brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this brewery. Let us get into this beer.
It has a clear amber with a light behind it. Without the light, it has a dark cherry color. There is no head on this beer. The aroma has a wine to cherry like notes. The taste has a cherry wine to malty notes with cherry wine alcohol aftertaste. It is a sipping beer.
Here is a description from their website (www.weyerbacher.wpengine.com):
Big and delicious, QUAD, 11.8% ABV, is an elegant dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it with a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well.
Here is their website and twitter addresses:
Ending, this beer style from Belgium has to be one of my favorite. I enjoy nice dark cherry notes this beer style gives us. Every time, I see a new quad hit the market. I go out and search for it. This beer is no different. It is different than other quads that I had in my lifetime. I highly recommend this beer. Go get some! Drink it! Enjoy it! Metal it! \m/
