In this beer blog, we are going to get into another brew from Cigar City Brewery. It is their Invasion Pale Ale. If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of Cigar City Brewery. If you have not, please, read them to get to know this Florida craft brewery. Let us get into this pale ale.
It has a clear golden color without a head on this pale ale. The aroma has heavy citrus notes like a west coast pale ale. The taste has a citrus to slight lemon notes. There is a nice west coast hop bitterest that hangs along throughout the tasting experience and aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable beer.
Here is their description from their website (www.cigarcitybrewing.com):
Invasion® | Cigar City Brewing
The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to Pirate invasion every year for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships, despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can’t beat them start saying Arrrr Matey! And so we have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy and tropical session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!
