New Beer Blog Anderson Valley The Gose Ale

image

In this beer blog, we are going to sample another brew from Anderson Valley.  It is their Gose Ale.  If you read my earlier beer blog posts on their beers, you know the history of this west coast craft brewery.  If you have not, please, read them to get to know Anderson Valley Brewery.  Let us get into this gose ale.

It has a clear golden color without a head on this brew. The aroma has a citrus notes. The taste of this light body has a light citrus with tart to sour like aftertaste. It is pretty drinkable but it can be a sipping beer.

Here is a description from the beer can:

The refreshing tartness in this divine, bright golden colored ale gives way to earthy undertones and hints of citrus followed by a slight sea salt like dryness and tangy, effervescent finish.

Closing, well the one beer style that I wished never saw the light of day is now sneaking across the state as you read this posts.  I am talking about Gose Ale.  It is a German Beer style that is as close to a sour.  It is German version of a sour.  Anderson Valley has a few of this beer style.  There are rumors of Sierra Nevada coming out with a Gose Ale by next year.  I know Witch’s Hat in Michigan has several different version of their Andrew Gose Away.  It is different. I like it.  This beer style is slowly growing on me.  I recommend this beer.  Go get some!  Drink it!  Enjoy it!  Metal it!  \m/

Cheers!
